Who needs reconstruction, the Winerack & Me

Posted on: August 30, 2010

I needed something serious to write about and got it in my email Sunday. It’s about a new product that I’m sure could revolutionize breast reconstruction.

With health care costs so high, a woman who was treated for breast cancer might need a good alternative to operations to rebuild the breasts. Personally, I’ve chosen the cheese chest, but then I live in Wisconsin, and I’ve said the cheese chest is what passes for breast reconstruction surgery in Wisconsin.

The Winerack sports bra holds 25 ounces of your favorite wine. Note I have not used photos of a model wearing the Winerack. That tests you how tasteful I am.

Now there’s a product for women of Sonoma County, California, or for anyone who happens to be thirsty. And you don’t have to have had mastectomies to wear it. In fact, that isn’t part of their marketing plan.

According to the New York Daily News, the obvious place for such important and informative reporting, there is a new device on the market called The Winerack. It is sold by, a company that describes itself as Crusading against the common gift since 1998.

A headline on Jose Martinez’s story about the Winerack stated: Get a boozy boost! sells Wine Rack, bra that holds 25 oz. of drink while giving a lift.

On its website, Baron Bob describes the product as a Funny Drinking Bladder Apparatus. It comes with a tube long enough to direct the flow of the wine in any direction the wearer wishes. It further explains:

The Winerack – every girl’s best friend!
Turn an A cup into double Ds AND sport your favorite beverage for yourself and your friends! Better than a Boob Job and Cheaper Too! Not to mention the savings on over priced drinks.  The Winerack was developed to “Fill Out” our product line if you will.

How thoughtful.

Suggested the Daily News, “Gals who want their cups to runneth over can now sip on the sly.”

The Winerack comes in two sizes: small and medium for $29.95. I don’t want to upset anyone, but medium is temporarily sold out. Baron Bob encourages preorders to be the first to get the Winerack once it is in stock again.

Meanwhile, I’m happy with the cheese chest. It’s football season again and I’m a true Packers fan.

Just a Packers fan in the dairy aisle. Note the location of the cheese chest; clearly I've forgotten where it's supposed to go in this photo taken last fall. (Jen Towner Photo)
