How did I celebrate & Me
Posted August 13, 2010on:
You know you are a party animal when going to the dentist is a part of your special day’s celebration.
It was the first anniversary of my breast cancer surgery. Who would think of such things when making a dental appointment six months ago?
What was amusing at the appointment was when it came for the review of my current medications I couldn’t for the life of me think of Arimidex. That’s the anti-cancer drug that reduces estrogen, which fed my tumor. I only have to take it for ten years.
The only name I could think of was Aricept but even as I said it, I was uneasy about that name. And then I remembered it was an Alzheimer’s drug so the hygienist looked it up.
We both smiled, realizing that maybe I should have taken Aricept before I came to my appointment. That might have helped me remember the real name of the drug. And then halfway through my appointment, Arimidex came to my addled brain.
The good news is I had no cavities.
In the meantime, we are going out for dinner with friends tonight after one of Dick’s bands, Grand Picnic, finishes playing at the Farmer’s Market.
Heck I might even get a drink … or maybe dessert.
Celebrate big, I say.
